Hard Knocks is a reality sports documentary television series produced by NFL Films and HBO. The show was first broadcast in 2001, and the current 2020 season is the fifteenth. Each season, it follows a National Football League (NFL) team through its training camp and covers the team’s preparation for the upcoming football season. Season 16 Opening on HBO Max at August 10, 2021.

The 2021 season will be the Dallas Cowboys’ upcoming 62nd season in the National Football League, the 13th playing home games at AT&T Stadium, and 2nd under head coach Mike McCarthy.

For the first time since 2004, long-time long snapper L. P. Ladouceur will not be on the roster, as he was not re-signed during free agency. This will also be the first season since 2010 without long-time punter Chris Jones, as he was released on March 17, 2021. To further add to the notable departures, this will be the first season since 2011 without defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford, as he announced his retirement on March 25, 2021. Additionally, this will be the first season since 2009 without linebacker Sean Lee, as he announced his retirement on April 26, 2021.
