This is the tale of Jackie Ryan, a fiery and egocentric individual hailing from Brooklyn and renowned as a street basketball icon. Despite his once-promising prospects of a professional basketball career, years of reckless partying and indifference have seemingly dashed his dreams. Jackie toils in the construction industry alongside his domineering father (Arquette) and his quick-witted companion Marty (Madio). However, an extraordinary display of skill at the renowned West 4th basketball court catches the attention of onlookers, leading to an invitation to try out for the New Jersey Nets. Now, Jackie must confront his inner demons, navigate familial conflicts, deal with relationship complications, and embark on a transformative journey to reshape his life.
