He is the oldest rookie in the LAPD, and his character’s story was inspired by true events. Nolan is played by Nathan Fillion – a 49-year-old Canadian-American actor who is best known for his roles in Firefly and Castle. He began his career in theatre before moving to New York City in 1994, where he starred in the soap One Life to Live.
