Drama History Sport

Seabiscuit is sports film co-produced, written and directed by Gary Ross and based on the best-selling 1999 non-fiction book Seabiscuit: An American Legend by Laura Hillenbrand. The film is loosely based on the life and racing career of Seabiscuit, an undersized and overlooked Thoroughbred race horse, whose unexpected successes made him a hugely popular media sensation in the United States during the Great Depression. Seabiscuit was nominated for seven Academy Awards.

Three individuals, Red Pollard (portrayed by Tobey Maguire), Charles S. Howard (played by Jeff Bridges), and Tom Smith (interpreted by Chris Cooper), unite to form a team consisting of the main jockey, owner, and trainer, respectively, of the renowned racehorse Seabiscuit. Despite facing personal challenges, this trio establishes an extraordinary connection with the horse, propelling them from difficult circumstances to a remarkable journey of triumph and accomplishment.
