Sarah, a French cosmonaut, undergoes rigorous training at the Cologne Space Center, standing as the sole female amidst a group of European astronauts. In her solitary existence, she cares for her seven-year-old daughter, Stella, whom she nurtures with a blend of loving concern and anxiousness, burdened by guilt for not being able to dedicate more moments to her. When Sarah is selected to embark on an extensive space expedition named Proxima, her life and that of Stella undergo a complete upheaval.
