Into the Night is apocalyptic sci-fi drama thriller streaming television series created by Jason George, inspired by the 2015 Polish science fiction novel The Old Axolotl by Jacek Dukaj. The series premiered on Netflix on May 1, 2020. It is Netflix’s first Belgian original series. On July 1, 2020, the series was renewed by Netflix for a second season. The story takes place in a world experiencing a global catastrophe from deadly solar radiation from the sun. Exposure to sunlight is bad, and they take a red-eye flight to Brussels as the series shows how they escape each other and stay out of the sun’s clutches, the dangerous anomaly that threatens everyone on Earth.
In season 2 follows after finding refuge deep underground, the passengers contend with a flurry of new crises — and rising tensions with their military hosts.
