Insidious is a supernatural horror film directed by James Wan, written by Leigh Whannell, and starring Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, and Barbara Hershey. It is the first installment in the Insidious franchise, and the third in terms of the series’ in-story chronology. The story centers on a couple whose son inexplicably enters a comatose state and becomes a vessel for a variety of entities in an astral dimension known as ‘The Further’ who want to inhabit his body.
New house, new happiness: for teacher Josh Lambert (Wilson), his wife Renai (Byrne) and their three children, moving is the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. The joy, however, only lasts for a short time: The family quickly becomes aware that their new home is haunted by dark spirits.
After a mysterious accident, her son Dalton (Simpkins) falls into a coma that puzzles even the best doctors. With another move, the Lamberts want to save their son and escape the incessant terror. But then they find out that it was not the house the demons are after …
