Concrete Cowboy is drama film directed by Ricky Staub, and written by Ricky Staub and Dan Walser. The film stars Idris Elba, Lorraine Toussaint, Caleb McLaughlin, Method Man, Jharrel Jerome, Swen Temmel and Byron Bowers. It primiered at September 13, 2020 on Toronto International Film Festival.
The film is based upon the novel Ghetto Cowboy by Greg Neri. A teenager discovers the world of urban horseback riding when he moves in with his estranged father in North Philadelphia. While spending the summer in North Philadelphia, a troubled teen (Caleb McLaughlin) is caught between a life of crime and his estranged father’s (Idris Elba) vibrant urban-cowboy subculture.
