A passionate coming-of-age tale set amidst the conservative confines of modern Tbilisi, the film follows Merab, a competitive dancer who is thrown off balance by the arrival of Irakli, a fellow male dancer with a rebellious streak.

Merab has been training from a young age at the National Georgian Ensemble with his dance partner, Mary. The pair have diligently crafted their painstakingly perfected technique, yet it all comes crashing down when the carefree and handsome Irakli arrives and becomes both Merab’s strongest rival and desire.

Featuring breathtaking dance routines and tour-de-force performances from its talented young Georgian cast, AND THEN WE DANCED will leave you both out of breath and tapping your toes to the beat of this most extraordinary of folk performances.
